IMPORTANCE OF SUMMER INTERNSHIP
by Kuralkhanov Darkhan
There are loads of students worldwide who are studying petroleum engineering. I believe that most of them will contribute to the E&P Industry in the future.
Commonly they have same subjects at universities, they get the same information from Internet or petroleum journals, and they have similar internship programs. But in the end they graduate from University at different levels. Some of them are good specialists, and others totally opposite. Plenty of factors influence on them during their student life. There are loads of students, but each case is individual.
My summer experience had an enormous influence on me. I spent a month in the field doing the job of operator. It is typical, not-hard job and you don?t have to attend University for 5 years to do it. You can have short courses and after that earn good money as an operator. I don?t mean that I was disappointed. But I studied Math, Physics, Chemistry, Graphics, Production Engineering, Mechanics and other subjects to work for E&P Industry. Years I spent reading, obtaining knowledge, and I really liked it. Besides the studying, I participated in different projects, communicated with people discussing industry issues, organized arrangements end etc. But in the field there was a daily repeated job, my brains stopped thinking, rrr? Of course you have to do that to be more experienced, and while you are student you should see this. Cause after graduation if you are Engineer and don?t know the job of Operator it is shame in some ways.
The best thing of this Experience that I clarified what I really want to do in the future. I want more. Just keep on reading, listening, analyzing and watching world around you, learn more...
Unfortunately not all the students have opportunity to go to internship and it is has bad affect not only on a student, but on the company as well.
In conclusion I would like to say that without summer experience you feel yourself like blind man going everywhere you hear a call, but can?t see where.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP IN HASSI-MESSAOUD, ALGERIA

Dilyara Iskakova spent 7 weeks going through internship programme in Reservoir Evaluation Wireline of Schlumberger, Hassi-Messaoud, Algeria. "The internship was great in the terms of both technical and communication experience. The hours spent in the field are unforgettable! You meet so many nice people from different countries! The only sad thing you have to leave them sooner or later."
