Almaty, Kazakhstan - On May 23, 2005, a meeting with 2005 SPE President Giovanni Pacaloni and members of the Kazakh National Technical University (KazNTU) Student Chapter and students from the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) was held. The meeting was organized by the Halliburton Company and attended by representatives of USAID/NRMP, as well as KazNTU and KBTU management.
The meeting covered issues such as human resources development in the oil and gas sector, international tendencies in the oil and gas industry development, organization of international student and professional conferences and workshops, and establishing a professional chapter of SPE in Astana.
